Nurses are a vital part of our healthcare system, and we all benefit when they are supported through policy, data and innovation. It was an honor to deliver the keynote at the NCBSN annual conference in Chicago last week on “Measuring Impact.” NCBSN speaks on public health matters, advocates for critical public policy, regulates the profession of nursing and creates solutions for a better tomorrow.
I was honored to deliver the morning keynote presentation today at The Kentucky Association of Systemic Therapists (KAST) conference. KAST is a nonprofit organization that supports the needs of marriage and family therapists and systemically oriented therapists in the state of Kentucky. Great to be with you this morning KAST leaders!
Thank you NTCA -- The Rural Broadband Association — for the invitation to speak at the first session of your Summer Symposium in Jacksonville, Florida. I throughly enjoyed moderating a panel discussion on Board governance and community engagement and leading sessions on developing healthy, engaged, and inspired Board members. See you next week in Minneapolis for the second session!
Thank you to Nonprofits LEAD and Marietta College for the invitation to speak at yesterday’s conference. Thoroughly enjoyed leading a session entitled Mission Ambassadors: Developing Effective and Empowered Ambassadors. It was so inspiring to be among so many talented and committed nonprofit leaders and funders!
This past weekend, I was honored to be in Sacramento, California to lead a session on strategic planning at the Association of Regional Center Agencies (ARCA) conference. California’s regional centers are a network of 21 community-based non-profits, represented by the Association of Regional Center Agencies (ARCA). The regional centers coordinate services for, and advocate on behalf of, nearly 400,000 Californians with developmental disabilities.
What if your Board and staff members embraced their role as advocates and ambassadors for the mission? Imagine the enhanced awareness of your mission and impact!
Enjoyed leading a webinar and discussion this week for DCM Associates entitled “Mission Ambassadors: Developing Effective and Empowered Board Advocates.”

Nonprofits are always the first to step up when the need arises. Yet, for all the good that you do, there comes a time when you need to think beyond each campaign and giving season and work towards positioning your organization for continued, long-term success.
Join me on August 15th for Day 1 as me and my fellow panelists review tips on engaging your donor through the economic crisis, and how nonprofit leaders can mitigate the impact.
